The Bloodline faction includes some of the biggest names in the WWE
The Bloodline is a heel group in WWE currently performing under the SmackDown brand. The Bloodline comprises of Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and Roman’s associate Paul Heyman. Roman is the current WWE Universal Champion and The Usos are the SmackDown Tag team champions.
The group first came along in April 25 2016 on Raw when the Usos agreed to an alliance with Roman. This happened when Roman single handedly saved the Usos from an attack from Anderson and Gallows.
During the May 16th episode of Raw, WWE officially christened the trio of Roman and Usos as “The Bloodline”. Their first match officially as the Bloodline was a success as the were victorious that night against Anderson and Gallows.
Although they were formed originally in 2016 the storyline had a very unexpected turn to it when there was a huge rivalry between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns. This feud was later settled and since then they have been together. The rivalry was so massive that it earned feud of the year award in 2020 by CBS Sports.
The three superstars also have a past history together as they are the members of the Anoa’i Family. The Anoa’i family is a family of professional wrestlers originating from American Samoa.
This family includes some very honourable members such as Riksihi, Umaga, Yokozuna, Reigns, The Usos, The Rock, etc. The Anoa’i family name also had a major role in name making of The Bloodline.
How did The Bloodline get their SmackDown titles?
Roman Reigns won the WWE Universal Championship in the Summerslam of Aug 19th 2018, when he defeated the then WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar. Roman Reigns had to vacate the belt just two months later on October 22nd 2018, It was revealed that Roman had a legitimate re-diagnosis of leukemia.
His second title reign came when he defeated Braun Strowman in a No holds barred match at Payback on Aug 20th 2020.
The Usos on the other hand have been pretty successful as a team as well. They have won the SmackDown Championship. They won their first championship in March 2017 and held the title till July of 2017 only to lose out in match against The New Day.
The Usos since then have won the SmackDown Championship 4 times(5 in total) with the latest victory coming in at Money In The Bank PPV of July 2021. They defeated the Father and son duo of Rey and Dominik Mysterio to capture the title for the 5th time.
