WWE TLC 2020 results and grades: The final PPV of the year was WWE TLC and it featured some big matches.
Drew McIntyre was to defend his title at the show and so was Roman Reigns. Asuka needed to find a new partner in her quest to become a double champion while Sasha Banks defended her title as well.
TLC 2020, as with any PPV started off with a kick-off match and here are the results and grades.
Mega tag match
TLC 2020 kicked off with an 8-man tag match with Daniel Bryan, Big E, Otis, and Chad Gable teaming up to take on Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro.
The match was crazy, as expected, and it was Big E that got the win for his team.
Big E, Gable, Otis and Bryan win
Grade B
Such tag matches often descend into chaos and this one did too. However, there were two talking points in this.
One was seeing Gable and Otis get another win and the other was E pinning Zayn.
McIntyre vs Styles
McIntyre defended his WWE title against AJ Styles in a TLC match. The pair traded a ton of blows and used a lot of weapons as the title was kept high above.
However, The Miz and John Morrison entered the fray and attacked McIntyre. He then cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to make it a triple threat match.
McIntyre, however, was able to get the better of the pair and won the title, despite Omos trying to help Styles.
McIntyre beats Styles and Miz
Grade A
This was an incredible match with all three doing some incredible spots. The Miz coming in was a great surprise, even though turning it into a triple threat match reduced his chances of winning the title.
Banks vs Carmella
This was the chance for Carmella to win the SmackDown Women’s title as Sasha Banks had been attacked with bottles for two weeks.
Reginald, the helper for Carmella tried to save her late in the match but he was taken out too. Banks then used a submission for the win.
Banks beats Carmella
Grade A
Another fantastic match as both women showed what they are capable of doing in the ring.
Banks keeping the title made sense but Carmella was close to ending the Boss’ reign.
Hurt Business vs New Day
This was for the Raw tag team titles as Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin took on the champions, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Alexander was the one who picked up the win as he tagged himself in to pin the champs.
Hurt Business beat New Day
Grade A
This was a great tag match and surprisingly, MVP, didn’t mess around in the match.
Alexander stealing the pin is something that Business will have to deal with and both teams came out looking great.
Asuka’s surprise partner
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, the Women’s tag champions, were waiting in the ring as Asuka made her surprise decision.
Charlotte Flair was her partner and the pair wasted no time in attacking the champions.
The champions tried to dominate Flair but she looked great and was able to get the win too.
Flair and Asuka beat Jax and Baszler
Grade B
Jax and Baszler actually looked great as a pair and it will be interesting to see what is next for them.
Seeing Flair return from a break is fun but she teaming up with Asuka is a little weird. It will also be interesting to see how the dynamic works with her and Asuka given that they were rivals recently.
Reigns vs Owens
This was another ladder match with Reigns’ title lofted high above the ring. Kevin Owens did a sneak attack at the start and then it was Jey Uso coming in to help his cousin.
Owens was able to deal with Uso and there was chaos all around. Reigns, Uso and Owens were all sent through tables but it was the Big Dog who got the win after choking out Owens thanks to some help from Uso and then climbing the ladder.
Reigns beats Owens
Grade A
This match was incredible too and would have left a lot of people talking. All three men gave it their all and it will be interesting to see how Reigns and Uso build their relationship after this.
Firefly Inferno match
This didn’t turn out to be a cinematic match as it was a regular Inferno match with the winner needing to set fire to his opponent.
There were some close moments with The Fiend trying to set Randy Orton on fire and vice versa. They even used an axe in hopes of killing each other.
However, it was Orton who got the win after setting The Fiend on fire.
Orton beats Fiend
Grade B
Seeing Orton burn The Fiend and the show ending on that note was an interesting take. They allowed the body to burn for a while and it will be interesting to see what is next for them.
