Pat McAfee accepted Vince McMahon’s offer to wrestle in a match at WrestleMania 38. Now he has his hands full as he takes on the promising Austin Theory at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Last week a report surfaced that Vince McMahon was going to challenge Pat McAfee to a match at WrestleMania 38. It was to the surprise of everyone as Vince is 76-years-old. Later there were reports that Vince would be challenging Pat McAfee to a match at WrestleMania but eventually, he would have Austin Theory wrestle on his behalf.

As per speculations, Vince McMahon was supposed to lose his cool during his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show and pick a fight with Pat McAfee and challenge him to a match at ‘Mania’. As it turned out, the interview went well and Vince didn’t seem to have any problem with McAfee.

Austin Theory slaps Pat McAfee

This week on SmackDown, McAfee learned who his opponent would be for WrestleMania 38.

Austin Theory appeared ringside this week on SmackDown and called himself the new “protege” of Vince McMahon. He told McAfee that he might think Vince McMahon likes him after a pleasant interview session but actually he doesn’t. Theory would go on to claim that Vince has set McAfee up and now he will get a beating so bad that he would shut his mouth.

Then Theory would slap McAfee in the face and trot to the other side of the ring. He would take his trademark selfie as McAfee was left fuming.

This will be the WrestleMania debut for both McAfee and Austin Theory.
