The co-creator and star of the MTV reality stunt show Jackass have been in a feud with Sami Zayn for quite some time now.
Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville have been feuding since the start of the year. Johnny entered the Royal Rumble at number nine. He had an entertaining campaign in the Rumble. And was eventually eliminated by Sami Zayn courtesy of a Helluva kick.
Sami won the Intercontinental Championship two weeks ago on SmackDown. He defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the title. While he was celebrating his third Intercontinental Championship win last week, Knoxville appeared. Knoxville challenged Sami for the title but the latter denied it. Sami would go on to say that Knoxville doesn’t belong in the company.
While the champion was leaving the ring he changed his mind and executed a sneak attack on Knoxville. He followed it up with two Helluva kicks and left Knoxville flat on the mat.
This week on SmackDown, Johnny got his revenge as he distracted Sami in his match against Ricochet. The distraction helped the talented Ricochet to execute a hurricanrana into a pinning combination and win the Intercontinental title.
This meant that Sami’s Intercontinental title reign ended in just two weeks. A frustrated Zayn would challenge Knoxville to a match at WrestleMania. The 50-year old would go on to accept the challenge and said he wasn’t afraid of Sami.
WWE is leaving no stones unturned in their quest of pulling off a monumental event at the AT&T Stadium for WrestleMania 38. Sami Zayn versus Johnny Knoxville was made official this week on SmackDown.
Most fans though were not too thrilled seeing a celebrity from another field get a match at WrestleMania. According to them, many talented WWE superstars were not on the WrestleMania card. Most fans want Alexa Bliss to feature on the WrestleMania card. Even Ricochet who is getting a push finally had to meander along in the company for a long time. Dolph Ziggler’s name has also came up in the mix.
