Zelina Vega makes her long awaited return on WWE SmackDown
Zelina Vega made her return after a long absence on Friday Night SmackDown as she faced Liv Morgan in singles action.
After Liv Morgan was awarded a chance to qualify for the ladder match, she discovered that her opponent was none other than Zelina Vega.
Vega is already added to the WWE Money in the Bank ladder match, to become one of the qualfiers from the blue brand. After her release last year, there were a few staff members who wanted her retained, instead of a release.
As per PW Insider‘s new information about her return, they say:
“The two sides made amends and came to a compromise. That is how business works. We are told everyone came to an understanding on the other sides’ perspective. She grew up wanting to be in WWE. Why wouldn’t she return if all sides cleared the air?”
Another report confirmed that Vega was on SmackDown the previous week too, and this is a permanent deal with WWE.
As far as cutting Vega’s throat off, they announced she’s in Money in the Bank, which is already a stronger push as a wrestler then she had received on the main roster. She had been mostly used as a manager with the exception of the Asuka bouts right before she was released last year.
Who will win the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match?
After Liv Morgan’s addition to the ladder match, the qualifers are Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Asuka, Naomi, Carmella and Zelina Vega. There is one spot still up for grabs and will complete the lineup for the event on July 18.
Crowds are expecting to return to the PPV, after a long absence away from the arenas. Alexa Bliss seems like one of the favourites after her dominant run on RAW, alongwith Nikki Cross’ new superhero persona. The tag team of Naomi and Asuka also qualified giving them a good chance to win the contract.
With the return of Vega, the contract is anybody’s to win and would give them a once in a lifetime opportunity.
