“You can’t celebrate that kind of win” – Kevin Lee left unimpressed by Conor McGregor’s defeat of Cowboy Cerrone

Kevin Lee was speaking with Ariel Helwani and wasn’t happy at how Conor McGregor won at UFC 246

UFC Lightweight star Kevin Lee didn’t believe Conor McGregor could celebrate much after his win over Donald Cerrone on Saturday.

The Irishman returned to the Octagon after his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov but made light work of Cerrone.

McGregor knocked out the Cowboy in 40 seconds and much was spoken about the use of his shoulders to bust Cerrone’s nose.

The Irishman then hit a kick to the head before the referee stopped the fight. Lee spoke about how people at grocery stores were celebrating the return of McGregor.

There had been questions if the Notorious One could come back from his loss to Khabib, however, Lee didn’t think McGregor could celebrate this win a lot:

“It ain’t really his fault, I ain’t going to be biting on that. He never really celebrates too much cause you can’t celebrate that type of win, how could you?

“You know what it is, we all know what it is. The general public might get swayed by these type of things but to be honest, if you are like a real competitor, you know what it is.”

The American will be up against Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 170 and Helwani suggested that maybe this clash for McGregor was a tune-up fight to get back to the groove.

Lee wasn’t taking any of this and claimed he never gets to do “tune-up” fights and didn’t receive a memo for this either.

The 27-year-old went on to say that several top stars, including McGregor, Tony Ferguson and Jorge Masvidal, were all “whack”.
