In an unfortunate turn of events, Ukrainian streamer ZeplaHQ received a Twitch ban yesterday, making her lose 100K followers in one go. Check out everything we know about the Zepla ban here.

Twitch is notorious for handing out bans to its streamers. While most times streamers are banned for flouting Twitch’s policies, there are times when the bans are handed out rather unjustly. On a recent such instance, Twitch streamer ZeplaHQ received a Twitch ban for allegedly impersonating herself.

The Twitch streamer did not hold back from calling out the platform for its injustice. Although her account was unbanned shortly after, the damage had already been done. Before Twitch revoked her ban, ZeplaHQ had already lost over 100K followers.

ZeplaHQ took to Twitter to question Twitch’s actions. She demanded an answer to why she had received a Twitch ban all of a sudden when she had not even streamed in a week’s time.

The streamer even shared how apart from banning her without cause, Twitch had also removed over 100k followers from her list. She explained how she had almost 250K followers, which had now become 78.5K. As expected, she was rather furious about the entire state of affairs.

Soon after, Twitch rectified its mistake and revoked Zepla’s Twitch ban. However, her followers still have to follow her account once again organically.

Reason behind the Zepla ban

Ukrainian streamer ZeplaHQ has been facing a problem of impersonators for quite some time now, with many people on Twitch pretending to be the streamer. Naturally, Twitch keeps banning these profiles that impersonate ZeplaHQ. However, during the recent incident, the platform banned ZeplaHQ for allegedly impersonating herself.

Zepla took to Twitter to share her thoughts about these allegations, and she lost her cool.

As the streamer stated, she would not have been upset about this mistake had it not cost her 100K followers in the way.

ZeplaHQ had approximately 250K followers before the incident took place. Her following has now reduced to a mere 78.3K, which can be devastating for a small time streamer. Her fans will have to follow her account organically once again to view her content.

ZeplaHQ is not the only streamer Twitch banned without cause lately

Although the incident with ZeplaHQ was devastating for the streamer, it is worth noting that she is not the only streamer who has faced issues of uncalled for bans in recent times. Sentinels streamer 39daph also received a Twitch ban recently for allegedly flouting the platform’s policies against sexual content. However, the platform revoked her ban within 33 minutes.

Daphne revealed later that this was because the game she was streaming was under the list of games that Twitch permitted.

While 39daph received a Twitch ban for no apparent reason, the platform did not remove her followers. Therefore, while the ban was quite uncalled for, it did not affect her Twitch presence.
