Reliable Engines

Iso Rivolta had quality and smooth engines with exceptional performances in tracks. The 1963 model was built using Chevrolet’s small-block V8 engines. This was a luxury GT and coupe with powerful internal components like carburetors. The major reason for the vehicle’s success was its top speed which was estimated  around 140mph. Everyone was shocked seeing its speed which was even higher than muscle cars of its time. Iso Rivolta 300 had great speed and acceleration.

Technology

Iso Rivolta had technology features which were similar to V8 muscle cars. The vehicle was built around strong chassis with steel parts. It was available with multiple gearboxes like 3-speed automatic, 4-speed manual, and 5-speed manual. Speaking about suspension, the front suspension had coil springs, antiroll bars, and telescopic shock absorbers. The rear suspension had a live rear axle, telescopic shock absorbers, and semi-elliptic leaf springs. These powered the car’s stability and resulted in a great driving experience. The other notable technologies were disc brakes and power steering.

Comfortable Features

Iso Rivolta cars were ultra luxury coupes. This is why the brand wanted to bring in the best interior features. It had comfortable features like bucket seats, leather upholstery, speedometer, heater, full instrumentation, luggage compartment, electric clock, and AC. Passengers enjoyed the driving experience with these features. It was an all around luxury interior suitable for long rides.

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro

When Iso Rivolta was unveiled, the car’s designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, was not popular. After years, he remained one of the best coach builders in the automotive industry. It was all classy with a mix of Italian and American cars. The major designs of this model were short rear deck, long hood, straight body lines, sleek roof, and large glass area. In the front, a wide grille and quad headlights were placed. The rear part of the vehicle had horizontal taillights.

Costly Vehicle

Iso Rivolta’s only drawback was its high pricing which was on par with Corvette, Dodge, and Chevrolet. The reason was justified as it was launched to show the engineering to the world. It was also a low-production vehicle. Only around 1000 Iso Rivolta cars were sold during the entire run. People bought the vehicle for its engineering and stylish designs. It was a masterpiece with an Italian touch. The average price of Iso Rivolta IR 300 was around $9,300 USD. It was sold in the USA and UK markets. Some pieces are still available in the secondary markets. The price of these restored cars will be around $100,000 USD.
