Technology

Right from features to designs, everything about this Lamborghini vehicle was futuristic. It was equipped with the 5-speed manual gearbox which was new in the early 70s. The vehicle was made on aluminum parts to enhance the handling. There was independent suspension on every wheel. Suspension was equipped with telescopic dampers and coil springs. Lamborghini incorporated girling ventilated disc brakes. This was a 2-seater vehicle with deep buckets seats,  cockpit, analog gauges, and leather upholstery. For this model, the interior features were driver-focused.

First-generation Countach

The Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio was the very first production car of the Countach series. This was the first design of the model known for its wedge shape. After this, the other Lamborghini LP series vehicles started to arrive.

Designs

Lamborghini hit it out of the park with its styling for this model. Countach LP40 Periscopio as the name suggests had a periscope mounted channel in the roofline for rear visibility. This was one of the first cars with the scissor doors. It had a wide and aggressive stance. The exterior had popup headlights, wide rear haunches, and horizontal taillights. The futuristic wedge styling was done by Marcello Gandini. Because of its periscope styling, Lamborghini added Periscopio as the nickname to the model.

Pop Culture

Lamborghini vehicles have had a great impact in pop culture. The LP400 Periscopio became the bedroom and poster car of its time. Right from kids to youngsters loved the vehicle. It was popular for its scissor doors and periscope channel. This model appeared on the front page of magazines and newspapers. Many toy cars were made. Lamborghini Periscopio also appeared in Hollywood films and popular video games. It was an integral part of music shows as well. Low Production Units

Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio was not a large selling volume vehicle. The production units of the vehicle were just 157. People were disappointed with the low numbers as it was just a halo supercar. When it was launched, Lamborghini sold it for around $90,000 USD. Though people were ready to spend bucks, the low productivity disappointed everyone. Some models have been sold through auctions for a record million USD.
