Over the years, many cars have been in production, but people also have the desire to buy those cars even now. Saab 900 Turbo

Saab 900 Turbo was launched just after the release of the Classic Saab 900 models. The Swedish vehicle was built using turbocharged engines. It was available with 4-speed and 5-speed manual transmissions. Saab 900 Turbo was one of the fastest cars in the 80s with a maximum speed of 130mph. The car had unique features like a floor mounted shifter and curved windscreen. Saab 900 Turbo was a heavy vehicle like a tank that would still rule the market if it gets manufactured again. Known as the Tesla of the 1980s, Saab 900 turbo had robust engines with advanced technologies.

Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX is a sporty edition of the regular Mitsubishi Eclipse. The car was built with 2.0 L DOHC turbocharged inline‑4. Mitsubishi Eclipse had front-wheel drive, but the GSX was built with all-wheel drive. It offered 210 horsepower and a speed of 130mph. Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX vehicles had 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions. Eclipse GSX cars were manufactured by Diamond Star Motors, and it was priced between $8,000 to $15,000. The major difference in GSX is the full-time AWD which enhances the performance and durability. The addition of a turbocharged engine makes this an iconic vehicle.

Mazda RX-7

The turbocharged rotary and rear-wheel drive were the main reasons for the success of Mazda RX-7. The lightweight sports coupe was first available in 1978. Mazda RX-7 cars were available till 2002 in three generations. The third generation vehicles were built with a 1.3 L 13B‑REW rotary. These vehicles came with two turbochargers. Mazda RX-7 third generation vehicles were more popular as it offered a top speed of 160 mph. People are still yearning to buy the original Mazda RX-7 vehicles, but we can rarely get these units.

Toyota MR2

The Toyota MR2 cars were the first rear-mid-engine cars from Japan. Toyota MR2 was a sports car which was available between 1984 and 2007. The handling of this car was amazing because of Transverse mid-engine and rear-wheel drive. Like many sports cars, Toyota MR2 was equipped with RWD. These cars ranged between $6,000 to $20,000. Toyota MR2 was a lightweight sports car known for its handling and mid-engines. It is rare to see a car that has the features of MR2 in this generation. Toyota will produce hundreds of cars, but the MR2 is one such car that deserves a comeback. The price of Toyota MR2 was lower than its counterparts.

Buick GNX

One of America’s muscle cars is the Buick GNX and it was in production in 1987. It is hard to believe that the GNX cars were only available for a year. The Buick GNX 1987 cars deserve a comeback. These cars had Garrett hybrid turbochargers and recalibrated ECM. A total of 547 Buick Regal GNX cars were sold. Buick may introduce a plethora of models, but the GNX edition was rare and special. GNX cars ran upto 120mph and it remains a classic vehicle even after 3 decades. 3.8L turbo V6 engines were used in GNX and it was available with 275hp.

Chevrolet SS

Chevrolet SS was a legendary vehicle used in major racing events like NASCAR and ARCA series. The Chevrolet SS was a high performance RWD car available between 2012-2017. The 4-door sedan was equipped with a 6.2 L LS3 V8 engine. Chevrolet SS was deemed as the successor of Pontiac G8 vehicles. With 420 hp and 160 mph as top speed, the range of Chevrolet SS was on another level. Chevrolet SS was first available as a 6-speed automatic vehicle before the manual transmission editions were out. The price of Chevrolet SS made it harder for people to buy and it was eventually stopped because of low sales.

Porsche 928

Porsche 928 was a premium touring vehicle available between 1978 to 1997. The Porsche 928 model was a successor to the 911 models. Porsche 928 was a high-speed performance oriented and comfortable vehicle. 4.5 L M28/01–M28/18 V8 and 4.7 L M28/19–M28/22 V8 engines were included in the first generation models. Porsche 928 first-generation models offered 220 hp and it increased to 350hp in the final models. Porsche 928 was the first Porsche car to use a front-engine layout. The pop-up headlights, aluminium hood, and rear suspension were key features of the vehicle. These made the Porsche 928 one of the best cars during its time.
