The styling of the Simca 1000 aged like a fine wine and this was all because of Mario Boano. It was painted in different colors like light green, red, light blue, grey, cream, and beige.
Racing Car
The Simca 1000 dominated local races, rally races, and club motorsport events. Some Simca 1000 were part of touring car events. The vehicle also had great tuning potential. Simca 1000 was transformed into Rallye which eventually became a legendary car. Racing enthusiasts purchased the original Simca 1000 and modified it with the best features for races.
Record-Breaking Sale
The Simca 1000 smashed all records for a French vehicle. It sold almost 2 million units in 18 years. The car was available in France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Argentina, and Belgium. It was also the competitor of Renault. Simca 1000 was sold at 6,000 French Francs which was around $1,500 USD. This was considered affordable for its features.
