Everyone knows Ben Roethlisberger is a champion in the NFL, but not many know his dark secrets. In 2006, he was accused of Sexual Assault by Andrea McNully, an employee of the Casino in Nevada. Andrea McNully was the senior shift manager at the Casino who revealed Ben Roethlisberger had raped her in Harrah’s Lake Tahoe in Nevada in 2008.

The entire NFL community was stunned when Andrea McNully filed a civil claim against Ben Roethlisberger in Washoe County’s District Court. In her report it was stated Ben Roethlisberger was in Stateline, Nevada to participate in a celebrity golf tournament match.

When Ben Roethlisberger attended the tournament, he interacted with Andrea McNully and the two had a good date. Andrea McNully stated Ben Roethlisberger telephoned her saying the TV Sound System was not working and he also requested her to sort it out. According to reports, Ben Roethlisberger blocked her inside the room and kissed her without her permission.

It was revealed the two had a sexual encounter and Andrea McNully was anticipating a child with a hope of marrying Ben Roethlisberger. A written statement published by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 2009 revealed Andrea McNully accepted her sexual encounter with a co-worker and she was bragging about it.

The case finally ended in 2011, and Ben Roethlisberger’s attorney claimed it was a drama by Andrea McNully and The Harrah’s Lake Tahoe management. Some reports revealed Ben Roethlisberger didn’t rape Andrea McNully and it was just a mutual encounter. Ben Roethlisberger’s attorney also confirmed Andrea McNully’s messages and e-mails didn’t testify to her accusations.

Aftermath of the Ben Roethlisberger Sexual Assault Case

Ben Roethlisberger settled the case with Andrea McNully. He continued to play in the NFL without a ban. Some fans criticized Roethlisberger for his behavior as this was not the first time he was dragged into a sexual assault case. He continued to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers and won a Pro Bowl before retiring in 2021.

Ben Roethlisberger always created issues off the field. In 2006, he was driving a motorcycle without a helmet in downtown Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger traveled without a license and crashed into a 1996 Chrysler New Yorker. Roethlisberger smashed the windshield of the car with his head. If not for paramedics on the spot, Roethlisberger would have lost his life.

In March 2010, Roethlisberger created another issue with a 20-year old girl at a Capital City nightclub. Reports claimed Ben Roethlisberger hit the woman inside the bar’s restroom. It was revealed both Ben Roethlisberger and the 20-year old girl were friends and were spotted together in many places. Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for 6 games in the 2010 NFL season after the incident.
